Bond has dinner with Vesper, who receives a call from Mathis stating that Le Chiffre has been apprehended by the CIA. Vesper leaves the dining room; seconds later, Bond realizes she's in danger. Bond races after them in his Aston Martin, but has to swerve violently when he sees Vesper lying bound in the road.
